The Program

Our BlueCommunities Network unites local organizations using our participatory film impact model to scale their circular projects.

Through film screenings and film-focused dialogues, communities bring together diverse stakeholders to identify challenges, close knowledge gaps, and foster collaboration. Each conversation builds on the last, transforming awareness into structured, measurable action.

  • Dialogue and Local Action

Film is used the catalyst for inclusive conversations that engages citizens, businesses, and governments in addressing local circular economy challenges.

  • Iterative Growth

After each dialogue, we provide feedback to inform future sessions. This helps members build structured pathways for collaboration to scale their circular projects.

  • Systemic Change

Members link their initiative to policy, national debates, and international collaborations. What begins as a local film dialogue becomes part of a collective effort to advance the circular economy worldwide.

Hear from our Members

“For humanity’s survival, we must come together to protect our oceans. Through our partnership with Plastic Oceans, we’ve been able to host Climate Movie Shows that helped us reach diverse audiences and expand our collective impact.”

Jennifer, Clean Ocean Ghana, Accra, Ghana

“In SEEDS, we see film and storytelling as an extremely important tool in the fight against climate change. The documentaries transform abstract climate data into stories that touch people and drive them into action.”

Margarida, SEEDS, Reykjavík, Iceland

“Discussing environmental films is a necessary first step towards action. Film dialogues bring us together and create a space to connect, share our concerns, and accompany each other in finding solutions.”

Fernanda, Patagonia Azul, Camarones, Argentina

Resources for Dialogues and Impact

As part of the BlueCommunities Network, each community gains access to dialogue resources developed in partnership with Living Room Conversations, an American NGO recognized for creating inclusive and effective conversation frameworks. These tools make it simple to host meaningful discussions alongside film screenings, helping to spark connection, understanding, and collaboration around scaling circular economy projects.

Our partners gain access to resources that make it easier to organize, lead, and measure impactful local initiatives, including:

  • Film Library Moderator Guide. Step-by-step instructions for facilitators to confidently lead discussions.

  • Dialogue Guidelines. Clear principles that ensure conversations remain respectful, inclusive, and focused.

  • Easy-to-Follow Dialogue Scripts. Designed so anyone, regardless of experience, can guide a productive conversation.

  • Dialogue Reports. Templates to capture insights and next steps, helping track progress and impact.

  • Global Network. Connect with other BlueCommunities working on circular projects around the world.
